    Vinification

    Fermentation and maceration at controled temperature. Its a blend of several wines aged in small casks, 550Lt over many years.

    Grapes

    Field Blend with typical grapes from Douro region. Touriga Nacional, Tinto Cão, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Sousão e Tinta Roriz.

    Tasting notes

    Medium tawny and intense in colour with a light toast and crystalized fruit. On the palate shows fresheness with dry fruits, figs, nuts and toffey with a persistent finish and hints of honey.

  • Pormenor White Reserva 2016

    Vinification

    Pormenor Reserva Branco 2016 was produced with a blend of typical grapes from Douro. Mainly Rabigato, Malvasia fina and Códega do Larinho. The grapes were harvested in early September in order to achieve a good acidity. Grapes from very old vines, above 90 years old and planted at altitudes between 600m to 800m, in Carrazeda de Ansiães – Pombal, Douro Superior. Typical soils of mica-schist that gives more freshness to the wine. After the sorting table, the best grapes were gently pressed and the must was decanted for 24 hours. The fermentation was natural, without yeast addition. Ageing with the lees for 10 months in used French oak barrels, without temperature control, without battonage and no Malo-lactic fermentation. This wine was not stabilized before bottling in order to give the minimum intervention possible. With time in bottle, it is possible to appear some deposit or natural crystals.

    Tasting notes

    Clean and vibrant straw color. On the nose, you can find contained floral aromas, with vibrant and strong minerality. Acidity well marked with evidence of citrus, green apple and pineapple and some green herbs. A light touch of wood. On the palate, it reveals good intensity on the mouth, typical of old vines. A balanced and elegant acidity with medium long finish, balanced smoke well integrated due the ageing in used barrel. This wine has a good ageing potential. Good for food with medium fat. Fish dishes, white meats, soft cheeses, risotto and poultry.

    Vinification

    Pormenor Reserva Branco 2014 is produced from a blend of typical grapes from Douro, Mainly Rabigato and Códega do Larinho. The grapes were harvested in end August in order to keep a good acidity. Very old vines planted in high altitudes, above 800m, from Carrazeda de Ansiães, – Pombal, Douro Superior. This wine, Pormenor Reserva Branco, was fermented naturally with no temperature control in used oak barrels from Burgundy and aged during 9 month in the same oaks with no battonage.

    Clean and vibrant color. At the nose, contained and complex aromas, showing a very unique minerality. Clear and captivating citrus, with hints of pineapple and lime that do not hide the soft touch of wood aging in used French oaks. On the mouth presents fat and full-bodied at the same time very elegant and long finish with a pretty obvious dryness, result of high natural acidity in perfect balance with very thin wood toast and very well integrated. It will age very well in the bottle. Good with: Fat fish, Cheese, White meat and Risotto.

    The acidity does a pretty good job of cutting throught the oak on the palate and ofen this does seem rather elegant.

Mainly Rabigato and Códega do Larinho. 2013 was a dificult year, the grapes from very old vines planted in altitude between 600m and 800m, in Carrazeda de Ansiães – Douro Superior, were picked in late August in order to preserve the acidity, resulting in a very balanced wine. This wine was fermented and aged naturally during 9 months in used French Oak Barrels from Burgundy with no temperature control during fermentation and no battonage.

The grapes were harvest in late August in order to preserve the acidity, trying to achive a balanced wine. After a careful selection at the sorting table, the fermentation and ageing was in stainless steel vats with the small lees. Minimum intervention untill bottling in order to keep freshness and minerality, and a good mouthfeel which contrasts with a balanced acidity, typical characteristics from micaschist soils.

  • Pormenor Red 2015

    Vinification

    Pormenor Red 2014, was produced with a blend of typical grapes from Douro Region. Vines over 500m altitude planted in Soutelo do Douro – Cima Corgo, with more than 60 years old. 2015 was a vintage with high temperatures e low humidity that allowed a good and balanced maturation of the grapes picked in beginning of September. This Pormenor 2015 pretends to be a fresh and elegant wine, with contained aromas and a medium length but persistent finish. Not a powerful wine but elegant. Fermentation and maceration for 25 days in stainless steel vats. Aged in used French oak barrels, 228L for 18 months until bottling.

    Tasting notes

    Violet in color, on the nose reveals discreet in the beginning, with predominant freshness, green, mineral and light wet stone. On the palate is slightly exuberant, predominantly with a strong minerality. Elegant and not very lush. In continuous growing, this wine becomes light with predominant fresh notes, light red fruit, and a small touch of wet stone. The aging on the barrels is very discreet and well integrated with medium- long finish. For immediate consumption despite its ageing potential and predictable good evolution in the bottle.

    Vinification

    Pormenor Red 2014, was produced with a blend of typical grapes from Douro Region. Vines over 500m from Soutelo and Nagoselo do Douro – close to São João da Pesqueira. 2014 was a very wet year. Heavy rain that influenced the maturation of the grapes harvested in early September. We wanted to produce a fresh and elegant wine, with contained aromas and not very long and persistent finish. Not a powerfull wine but elegant. Maceration for 25 days in stainless steel vats after the fermentation process. Aged in used 225L French oak barrels untill bottling.

  • Pormenor Red Wine 2013

    Vinification

    Pormenor Tinto 2013 was produced from a blend of several grapes varieties typical from Douro Region. Old Vines over 50 years old, planted between 500m and 600m. The harvest started early September in order to maintain a high level of acidity in order to produce a fresh and elegante red wine. This wine was fermented and macerated in stainless steel vats for 25 days, with a small part of the stems. Aged 14 months in used French oak barrels from Burgundy until bottling.

    Tasting notes

    On the nose, a discreet and fresh wine. Elegant. On the palete, rustic, and simple. While drinking, it becomes a more elegant wine with evident freshness and a small touch of wet stone with a light and discreet smoked from the light toast of used oak barrels. Very elegant and fresh wine with a medium-long finish.
